How it all began

Sarah says…
Our story began in 2018 at a party at Jordan’s parents’ house.
If we’re being completely honest, I was far more interested in spending time with his parents than I was in mingling with everyone else. Somewhere between the laughs, the drinks, and me accidentally becoming their favourite person there, Jordan managed to get my attention too.
In 2019, life took us to opposite sides of the world. Jordan headed to America, while I moved to England. Despite the distance we spoke every single day (much to Jordan’s horror). Time zones became a minor inconvenience, and somehow our connection only grew stronger. Apparently - absence really does make the heart grow fonder.
In December 2019 Jordan arrived [with all his summer clothes] in England for what was supposed to be a holiday. The world was struck with Covid-19, England went into lock down and his “short trip” quickly turned into a ten-month stay. It was a tragic time for many but for us there was a silver lining - lockdown gave us the chance to truly build a life together and for Jordan to become my parents favourite person. Four months after restrictions lifted, the extended holiday became permanent, and Jordan officially made England his home.
Like every couple, we’ve faced our fair share of challenges over the years. But through it all, our relationship has always felt incredibly easy. We’ve navigated every twist and turn as a team, and no matter what life has thrown at us, we’ve never doubted that we were exactly where we were meant to be.
Plettenberg Bay holds a special place in our hearts. It’s been the backdrop to countless family holidays, unforgettable memories and more beach walks than we can count. It became even more special on the 8th of March 2024, when Jordan proposed to me on Robberg, after a hike that left me searching for a gin and tonic in the bag that was carrying my ring. Thankfully I didnt find it and the engagement was suitably romantic and I said yes!
Now, we can’t imagine a more perfect place to celebrate the next chapter of our story as we get married in Plettenberg Bay on the 10th of April 2027, surrounded by the people who have supported, encouraged, and loved us along the way.
From the very beginning, our life together has been one incredible adventure. We’ve laughed endlessly, travelled the UK, crossed continents, survived lockdown and many other challenges but through it all it has always been us staying together and working it out alongside one another.
If our journey has taught us anything, it’s that the best adventures are rarely the ones you plan. They’re the ones you take together.
Thank you for being here to celebrate this moment with us. We can’t wait to dance, laugh, make more unforgettable memories, and start this next chapter surrounded by the people we love most.
Jordan says….
Our story started back in 2018 when Sarah came over to my house for pre-drinks before a night out with mutual friends. We’d known each other from school, but this was the first time we actually got to know each other properly. I still remember he walking in wearing black shorts, a red top and blond hair - she definitely caught my attention! My first thought was that she was way out of my league … But I decided to give it a go anyway!
A couple of months later, after plenty of chatting [and Sarah ‘conveniently’ joining me on my trips to Cape Town - purely by coincidence], we officially started dating.
Fast forward to Plettenberg Bay, where we will soon be getting married. I planned the perfect proposal: a beautiful hike overlooking the ocean, a picnic, champagne, glasses … and the ring carefully hidden at the bottom of my backpack.. What could go wrong??? Well, Sarah was far more interested in finding a gin and tonic, that she thought I had put in the bag, than admiring the view. As she enthusiastically dug through the bag, getting dangerously close to the ring, I panicked and snatched it away. The look she gave me suggested that I had just committed a serious crime by delaying her first sip. Realising I had completely blown the surprise, I did the only thing I could thing of and dropped to one knee.
I have never seen someone’s expression change so quickly from - give me my drink - to complete shock, happy tears and a very enthusiastic, “YES”!!!
Since then, we’ve spent our lives laughing, teasing each other and making memories we’ll never forget. I honestly can’t imagine doing like with anyone else. I am completely in love with this incredible woman, cant wait to marry her and travel the world together as we begin the next chapter as husband and wife.
